Girls' Camp - Week 2!

Hi, everyone!

We can’t believe that we are already in the second week of camp! The first week flew by even with the high temperatures.

At flag raising, campers selected names for Secret Sister (similar to Secret Santa). Each camper will make a special gift (a painted rock, friendship bracelet) or write a kind note to their secret sister over the next two days. Campers will surprise their secret sister on Wednesday morning when they reveal their identity!

For breakfast, we had waffles and peanut butter, which was a great way to start our day. After cabin and camp duties, we headed off to morning classes. Campers have shown great improvements in their swimming, rowing, and paddling skills! Some of our Level 3 swimmers practiced their diving skills, while the Water Safety classes learned some lifeguarding skills. Our rowers got a great workout in the wind, and were able to practice their feathering! In arts and crafts, campers spent time making friendship bracelets, decorating canvas bags, and painting!

Rest hour was cut short due to a brief thunderstorm, which was wonderful for providing some relief from the heat! Campers played indoor games, and then returned to the outdoors once it was clear and sunny again.

At the moment, campers are listening to rules for Pirates, a camp favorite! During pirates, campers team up to find treasure and collect flour “guns.” They wear dark shirts so everyone can tell if they’ve been hit by a “gun.” I’m sure we will see campers running by in the parking lot soon, so we better get going!

Have a great night!
