Happy fourth of July!

Every camper woke up with excitement this morning, ready to celebrate and enjoy the sun that supposedly would peak out. We skipped flagpole due to the rain, had cornbread for breakfast, and that’s when the sun did as promised!

Our first three periods brought a beautiful sun, super fun swimming classes, “Roll or Die” in sports class, and our first day out on the boats. For lunch we had baked ziti and salad, a camp favorite! Right as the rest hour bell rang, the rain came back once again and began to downpour for the entirety of rest hour and into general swim, which we made an extended rest hour.

During activity period, campers played banana-grams, ping pong, and knock hockey. Supper was chicken patties. For evening program, we played Murder by Night. Campers had to walk around and find staff members located around camp and try to figure out who murdered Joey by finding an alibi that didn’t match up, and collect letters that spell out the murder weapon. One group successfully solved the murder- the kitchen staff poisoned his ziti!

Then we had ice cream sundaes for dessert to celebrate the fourth of July! Campers happily chose from the variety of toppings we offered and sang goodnight songs before heading off to bed.
